Social
Here at The Gay Farmer our social responsibility is very important to us, by raising funds, donating our products, raising awareness, tackling stigma and trying to make this beautiful world free of prejudice, with an end goal of Equality for Everyone Everywhere!
In fact our founder Mark Dyer (The Gay Farmer himself) was the first LGBT+ student Union Officer at Leeds Beckett University (formerly Leeds Metropolitan University) and was marching for equality and to repeal Section 28 in the very early 90s. He then worked and was part of the LGBT+ community in Manchester and London in the 90s, and Brighton in the 00s before turning his hand to Farming. Breaking boundaries with the company name and using the word Gay in a positive way.
Please find below the amazing organisations we support. If you would like to find out more about these beautiful people or wish to donate there are links below.
We are very proud to inform everyone of our most important collaboration to date, £1 from each of our second generation queer cans launched late December 2024 will be donated to AKT.
Running total as of 1st February 2025 £363.00 Updated monthly.

We have donated 100s of cans of our Single Estate Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil over the years for the amazing work done by The Food Chain and has a very special place in our heart. Our Founder Mark Dyer (The Gay Farmer himself) lost his job in the mid 00's after contracting HIV, although fortunate to have PPI to cover the mortgage and bills he had very little money to live on and used a service in Brighton very similar to The Food Chain, where he could go every lunch time for a free 3 course nutritious meal with other people in the same situation in a safe place with no judgement. If you had 50 pence or a pound to pop in the box great if not it really didn't matter. An essential service for those in need just like The Food Chain. If you are able to help with the amazing work they do please be generous, thank you.
